Right to Redress and Access to Justice for Bangladeshi Migrant Workers in Malaysia in partnership with CARAM Asia

OKUP has signed an ToR with CARAM Asia for implementation of the project entitled “Right to Redress and Access to Justice for Bangladeshi Migrant Workers in Malaysia” in January 2015 aims to reducing the risks and vulnerabilities of Bangladeshi Migrant Workers in Malaysia and promote their human rights.

Major activities of the project are providing legal assistance to Bangladeshi migrant workers who are detained in Malaysia through cross border case referrals in collaboration with a Malaysia-based organization named ” Tenaganita”; and extending repatriation and reintegration services including Airport pick-up, shelter, family reunification, healthcare, legal aid etc.

The project is funded by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) for the period of January 2015 to December 2018. Total value of the project is US$ 64,197 equivalent to BDT 5,007,366.
