Project Manager

OKUP is a right based migrant organization. OKUP promotes and protects human rights, labour rights, justice and dignity of all migrant workers irrespective of genders across borders through putting migrants’ perspectives in the center of migration discourse at all levels through unity and empowerment of migrant workers themselves. OKUP has been partnering with different international donor agencies, like, EC, CAFOD, Caritas Luxembourg, Caritas France, Winrock International, ILO, GFEMS, RCNF, ASI, Helvetas Bangladesh etc.

Now OKUP is seeking applications for the following position for its Rohingya Response Program in Cox’s Bazar.

Job Description – Project Manager

Job Title : Project Manager (01 Position)
Job Family : Program
Project : Human Trafficking Prevention Programme for Rohingya Refugees in the Cox’s Bazaar Camps in Bangladesh (HTPPR)
Job Location : Cox’s Bazar
Job Duration : Six months (extendable)
Job Type : Contract based
Reported to : Line Manager
 

Major Responsibilities:

  • Overall implementation of the project activities in line with project document, work plan, budget and with quality and with compliance of government rules, organizational policies, donor policies etc.
  • Ensure effective and efficient use of staffs and resources and provides onsite facilitative supervision, strategic direction, technical support and so on to the staffs
  • Establish and maintain proper liaison, relation and linkage with local stakeholders including RRRC, CIC, District, Upazila, and Union level government administration etc.
  • Ensure 100% standards in financial and logistical management to meet accountability and transparency
  • Make sure proper documentation (both hardcopy and softcopy) of project beneficiaries, and all kinds of reports, activity photos etc.
  • Submit monthly and quarterly narrative and financial reports and donor reports
  • Perform any other activity as directed by the management
  • Responsible for ensuring organizational financial accountability, and transparency, including fraud prevention, complaints management and safeguarding.
 

Required Academic and other Qualifications

Post graduation on Social Welfare/Social Work; Sociology; Development Studies; International Affairs; Women Empowerment; Psychology; Anthropology or other relevant disciplines etc.
 

Essential Specific Competencies

  • 5 – 7 years demonstrated experiences, skills and ability to lead and implement emergency humanitarian response project (especially in Cox’s Bazar)
  • Demonstrated skills in maintaining better liaison with relevant government authority, sector management groups etc.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure, trouble-shoot, and to meet short- and long-term deadlines
  • Demonstrated experience in budget and financial management
  • Experience in program administration, operating procedures, oversight and monitoring
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent critical and creative thinking and analytical skills
  • Good report writing along with analytical skills
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Excellent risk management and cost control skills
 

Job Location: Cox’s Bazar
